Radiological Operations Support Specialists (ROSS)

Notice: The ROSS course will be held concurrently with the workshop. Attending the ROSS course means you will not be able to attend the workshop simultaneously. Registration is free and on a first come first serve basis. No food, housing, or travel will be provided during this course. If you are taking this course to become a ROSS for your state, send a confirmation of approval to take this course from your ROSS coordinator. If you are unsure of your ROSS coordinator, a list is available here. Registration can be filled out prior to submitting approval.
Description: The Radiological Operations Support Specialists (ROSS) training course provided by the Counterterrorism Operations Support (CTOS) Center for Radiological Nuclear Training will be offered concurrently with the HPS Internal Dosimetry Winter Workshop. The course will be four days from February 6-9, 2023 at Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR. The ROSS course is free on a first come first serve basis. The ROSS registration is on the same page as the workshop registration here.
ROSS trained personnel are individuals from all backgrounds including hazardous materials specialists, first responders, chemists, biologists, physicists, and more. The ROSS course is designed to provide hands-on training so participants can leave with the skills and capabilities to respond to radiological and nuclear emergencies. Individuals will be able to provide subject-matter expertise and guidance on questions about radiation, the environment, hazard modeling, data and risk management, public protective actions and other scientific and technical issues to incident response leaders at any level.
