Childcare at the 2020 meetings will take the form of "Camp SICB – An adventure for kids." Childcare will be FREE again this year and will be available on Friday evening (January 3) during the plenary session and opening reception and from 8:00AM - 5:00PM on the Saturday-Tuesday of the meetings.
Preferred Sitters will continue to be the childcare service for the SICB meeting. They have provided superior child daycare services for years, for corporate and government events. Be assured that your child will be cared for in a fun, active and caring environment while you are in your sessions. We have lots of activities planned for your children, like crafts, Lego building competitions, story-time, Pictionary, and LOTS more!
To register please email PreferredSitter@gmail.com with the following information: Full name, telephone number, email address, children's name, age, days/times that childcare is needed, and any special instructions/needs. Preferred Sitters will respond quickly with a confirmation. Registration by December 4th is required to participate.
CAMP SICB will be located in room 205 at the JW Marriott. A nursing mothers room will be located in room 305 at the JW Marriott.
Do you like to run in the morning? Join other SICB attendees for morning runs along Lake Travis. Runs will take place on the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th. Meet in the Lobby of the JW Marriott at 6:00 am and get back in plenty of time for the 8 am start time for sessions. A great way to start the day and meet other SICB attendees. Michele ‘Nish’ Nishiguchi will be leading the runs.

Sleeping rooms will be available at JW Marriott Austin at a rate of $140 single/double plus taxes. Rate will be available until Wednesday 11 December at 5 pm or until the block is sold out. Reduced-rate reservations in the SICB block may be booked by using the link. This is the ONLY way to book a room at the hotel at the SICB rate!!!
Casual dress is appropriate throughout the meeting. For comfort in the air-conditioned meeting rooms, a light jacket or sweater is suggested. Average January temperatures are highs of 59° and lows of 38.6°.
The SICB Registration Desk is staffed to check in attendees and exhibitors and answer any questions you might have regarding the meeting. The Registration Desk will be located in the Grand Ballroom Foyer and open the following hours:

Food and Beverage
Morning and afternoon breaks will be provided Monday through Wednesday in the exhibit hall. During the poster session there will be a cash bar. The Welcome Reception will take place on Friday in the Griffin Hall after the Plenary Session. A Wine and Cheese Reception will take place after the Moore Lecture on Tuesday.
Messages and Job Announcements
Message boards are located in the Ballroom foyer. Participants may post messages for friends and colleagues. The registration staff will also post telephone and other messages on these boards. Job announcements or information about employment opportunities may be posted on the Job/Resume Board in the Exhibit Area.
