Oral Presentation Guidelines

Change or cancellation of posters

As a courtesy to the audience, please let us know as soon as possible if there is a change in your presentation. If there is some last-minute difficulty, please arrange for someone else to present your poster rather than canceling it. For changes in speaker or program prior to the meeting, please email the HPS Secretariat (Jennifer Rosenberg) at jrosenberg@burkinc.com.

Information for Oral Presenters

  • Unless otherwise specified, all talks are 15 minutes total. You should plan for ~12 minutes of presentation followed by ~3 minutes of questions.
  • It is recommended that you use the new widescreen slide standard ratio of 16:9.

In-person speakers

  • You MUST check in at the speaker ready room with your completed presentation the day before your talk. If you have a talk Tuesday morning, you must go to the speaker ready room by Monday morning the day before. After that point, no changes can be made to your talk.
  • If you do not check in at the speaker ready room, you cannot present.
  • In general, it is best to avoid embedded videos. If you want to use an embedded video, please ensure you check the venue wifi connection in the speaker ready room to try to avoid delays or technology issues.
