How to report problems with the SICB virtual meeting platform
We are still in the process of correcting errors on the virtual meeting platform (SICB Pathable). If you are having problems preparing or uploading your presentation, please use this Google form to report your problem: SICB 2021 Problem Report Form

Examples of problems to report:

  • There is no Manage button on your presentation page (so you can’t upload your presentation) [Quick check: are you logged in to your account?]
  • You have some other recording or uploading problem
  • You have two accounts on the SICB Pathable system
  • Your presentation is not associated with the correct session (sessions are listed in the online program on the SICB web site)
  • Your co-author list is incorrect

The SICB staff will work through the reported problems as quickly as possible. The form is the fastest way to get resolution (faster than emailing an individual SICB representative).

If you are having technical difficulties and can’t upload a draft version of your presentation by the deadline (Monday, December 21 at 23:59 HST), please fill out the SICB 2021 Problem Report Form. Please make sure to either upload your presentation or fill out this form. Technical difficulties can include problems recording your presentation as well as problems with the SICB Pathable platform.

If you miss the December 21 deadline for any reason, your presentation will still be accepted. But we need all presenters to attempt to upload presentations by the December 21 deadline precisely so we can work through any problems that arise.

Feel free to upload a rough draft of your talk or poster. You’ll have another chance to upload a new version between December 28-30.

Pathable is open for presentation uploads
The Pathable platform is now open for presentation uploads! We have experienced some initial technical difficulties and appreciate your patience. Many presenters have already received an email from Pathable inviting them to create a profile and upload their presentation. If you have not received the email by Friday, December 18th, please reach out.

If you received duplicate emails, this is because there are multiple email addresses associated with your account - typically because a co-author used an alternate email address for you, or because you used different email addresses for abstract submission and registration. Please set up only one profile; we are working to resolve the duplicates. If you still have two pathable profiles on Friday December 18th, please email Lori Strong (lstrong@burkinc.com) and let her know which email you prefer to use.

Uploading Presentations to Pathable: Slight Delay
We are experiencing a slight delay for presentation uploads. All presenters should expect to receive an email from Pathable no later than December 15th (one day later than initially announced). This email will allow you to log in, create your profile, and then upload your presentation.

Release of the SICB 2021 program: all presentations
See this link for the schedule of all presentations of the SICB 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting. The schedule for other items (meetings, workshops, socials) is still being planned and will be released as soon as possible.

Please note that attendees will be able to make a customizable agenda through the Pathable online platform, which should be available after December 14.

Guidelines for presenters of contributed talks and posters
The procedures for creating and submitting your contributed talk or poster are different this year. To guide you through the process, we have developed a set of guidelines for creating your presentation and uploading your files. This document will be updated with new information as needed, including SICB-specific instruction videos that will walk you through each step, coming soon. Click here to read the guidelines.

Please note that speakers in live sessions or events (plenaries, BSP sessions, special sessions, workshops, meetings) have a different set of instructions, provided separately.

New upload window to submit revised presentation files
To help give SICB 2021 presenters more time to refine their talks and posters, we are providing a second file upload window—for revisions only—from December 28-30 (23:59 Hawaii Standard Time). The initial deadline still remains: presenters MUST submit complete talk and poster files by December 21 (23:59 HST). However, the files in this first submission can be drafts.
