IUSSI 2022 Abstract Changes/Cancellations
Meeting Format
The format for the IUSSI 2022 Congress will be like that of past congresses, with plenary talks each day, several hundred short talks, and two large poster sessions. It will also include opportunities for remote attendees to present their work and to see and hear portions of the congress as they happen. There will be three types of sessions for contributed presentations:
- Symposia. Symposia are designed to bring together speakers addressing a common topic. They were selected by the Program Committee from submitted proposals. Each one addresses a theme developed by the organizers and will include several invited speakers. All symposia also have empty slots available to be filled by contributed abstracts selected by the symposium organizers and the Program Committee. Talks will be 15 minutes long, including time for questions. Click here for names and descriptions of each symposium.
- Thematic Sessions. Contributed talks that are not assigned to symposia will be organized by the Program Committee into sessions according to topic. Just as for the symposia, talks will be 15 minutes long, including time for questions.
- Poster Presentations. Contributed posters will be grouped by topic and assigned to one of two poster sessions to be held in the late afternoon on separate days. Authors are expected to stand by their posters to field questions from participants during their assigned session.
All attendees are limited to giving a single talk for the entire congress, whether at a symposium, thematic session, or plenary session. Those who give a talk may also present a poster. All attendees are limited to presenting a single poster.
Virtual presentations
Remote attendees will have two ways of presenting their work. First, many slots will be reserved for livestreamed presentations during the congress. These presentations will be viewable online by all congress participants, in-person and remote. Second, registrants can submit talks as video recordings and posters as PDFs. These will be made available online to all congress registrants. In-person presenters will also be encouraged to submit recorded talks and poster PDFs. In-person speakers will have the additional option of having their live presentations recorded and uploaded.
Submission Guidelines
Contributed abstracts must be submitted via this Google form. The information that you will need to provide is described below
Presenting Author
Enter your name, institution, department, mailing address, telephone number (mobile preferable), and e-mail address in the appropriate boxes on the abstract form. All correspondence for the congress will be sent to the e-mail address provided. Submission of an abstract constitutes confirmation that all listed co-authors have approved its content.
Attendance Mode
Indicate whether you wish to present in-person or remotely. If you plans are not yet certain, select “undecided”.
Contributed Presentation Format
Select whether you prefer your presentation to be a talk or a poster. This choice will help guide (but will not determine) which format is assigned. If you do not have a preference, select “either”.
Preferred symposium
Invited speakers should indicate to which symposium they were invited. If you want to give a talk and are not an invited speaker, then select up to three symposia for which you would like your contribution to be considered.
Abstract Keywords
Keywords will be used to help assign talks to thematic sessions and to organize the poster sessions. You must provide a total of at least five (5) keywords. Please be sure to spell check these words, to help the Program Committee properly place your submission in the congress program.
Abstract
The abstract is limited to 1800 characters, including spaces (roughly 275 words).
Meeting Registration
Abstracts may be submitted before registering for the meeting. You will receive an email from IUSSI acknowledging receipt of your abstract. If you do not receive such an email, then your abstract has not been received. Check with the business office (LStrong@BurkInc.com) if you need assistance.
